ROCKINGHAM Castle goes back in time to Christmas Eve 1849 for its popular yuletide opening days from Monday 16 to Friday 20 November.
Visitors can see the family's butler, governess and housekeeper in costume putting the finishing touches to Christmas preparations in Victorian times. The trees will be decorated, the fires lit, the table in the Great Hall set for a feast and the kitchen laden with food.

Castle tours cost £5 for adults, children £1.

The castle courtyard is decorated with illuminated trees, the gift shop has some unusual presents and the restaurant has open fires and seasonal fare.

Opening hours 11am-8pm. Car parking £2. More details - 01536 770240.
