A CORNUCOPIA of composers comes to St Mary's Church in Ketton on June 6th and 7th.
It will celebrate the music of four composers who mark different anniversaries during the year – Purcell, Handel, Haydn and Mendelssohn.
The weekend has two concerts.
The first is on Saturday, June 6, at 7.30pm featuring The Cantus Orchestra.
With Steven Foster on trumpet and Barry Collett as conductor the audience will hear Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn, Trumpet Concerto in Eb by Haydn, Music for the Royal Fireworks by Handel, 2 Divertimento by Purcell and Symphony 103 (The Drum Roll) by Haydn.
On Sunday, June 7, at 7pm the concert will include The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams, Eclogue by Finzi, Serenade for Strings by Elgar, Concertino for Piano and Strings by Walter Leigh plus other works by Elgar, Holst and Purcell.
