The grounds of the Old Vicarage at Whissendine will be open to the public on Sunday, May 18.
Owners Peter and Sarah Furness have been working hard to prepare their land for the event which is part of the National Gardens Scheme.

The events raise money for charity and offer a fantastic opportunity to explore gardens around the county and swap tips with other greenfingered Rutlanders.

For this year the couple have created a new walled area with olive trees, fountain, tiered beds and tender plants backed by a small gothic orangery.

In the rest of the 0.7 acre garden is a terrace with topiary, 'white walk', herbaceous borders and wisteria tunnel leading to an orchard with naturalised bulbs.

The garden at The Old Vicarage in Station Road, Whissendine, is open this Sunday from 1-5pm. Admission is £2 (children free) with a plant stall, art exhibition and teas in the village church.
