A photographer is giving Rutlanders a sneak preview of his first book in an exhibition running until Sunday, November 23.
Tim Cullen is presenting the Intimate Detail display at Victoria Hall in Oakham.

It features close-up, high magnification photography of flower forms, which will feature in a book of the same title in the spring.

Tim (49), of Willow Crescent i
n Oakham, first became interested in photography when he won a camera in a raffle at the age of 13. He went on to study art at college and did a degree in photography.

He now works as a professional photographer.

Tim said: "A camera is a window on the world and it gives you a different way of looking at things. I enjoy the opportunity of photographing life forms close up."

Tim moved to Rutland three years ago and the county has provided him with plenty of inspiration for his work, whether he is walking through the bluebells at Hambleton or looking out across Rutland Water.

His Intimate Detail book will include around 70 floral images, along with poems and a few words about the images. There will be a launch event in Oakham and a new exhibition at Stamford Arts Centre.

More of Tim's work is available to view on-line at www.timcullenphotography.co.uk

He also plans to run photography workshops next year and anyone interested can contact him via the website.
