The season of plays at Rutland's open air theatre continues until the end of August.
The box office of the Stamford Shakespeare Company has sold more than 27,000 seats for performances at the Tolethorpe theatre at Tolethorpe Hall, Little Casteron.

The three plays being performed this season are The Wind in the Willows, Romeo and Juliet and Richard III.

All performances of The Wind in the Willows have sold out.

Performances are Monday to Saturday at 8pm.

Romeo and Juliet will be staged in weeks beginning August 4 and 18.

Richard III will be staged in weeks beginning July 21, and August 11 and 25.

For tickets, call the box office on 01780 756133.

The 600 seat open air theatre in the attractive grounds of Tolethorpe, has a permanent covered auditorium and no performance is ever cancelled because of rain.

It was described by the Stage newspaper as England's premier alfresco venue and is recognised as one of the finest open air theatres in Europe offering the comfort of an indoor theatre in an outdoor setting. More than 30,000 people visit the theatre each summer.
