We live on Burley Road, Oakham, down an alley adjacent to the allotments.
Last Friday, August 8, none of the black bins from 103-113 Burley Road were emptied, although those in the rest of Burley Road were.
My mum rang the council at 8.45am on Monday to complain and the person who answered said that they would enquire
and call back with an explanation as to why they hadn't emptied the bins.
I returned home from work at 5.15pm to find they had not returned the call and the bins had still not been emptied.
It seems that they are happy to take our community tax, but they are not committed to supplying us with the same standard of service that everybody else gets.
It is the same when it comes to mowing and strimming.
Our alleyway has been missed the last three times when they have been doing Burley Road.
If you ask the contractors why they haven't strimmed they say it is not on the contract, even though we have been assured by the council offices that it is.
I think as far as our row of houses are concerned we exist for paying council tax but don't get the service.

A council spokseman said this week: Rutland County Council confirms that a telephone call was received on Monday with regards to a missed bin.
As is standard procedure, this call was logged and the bin subsequently collected on Tuesday, August 12.
This was an oversight and the council apologises on behalf of the contractor.
With regards to grass cutting, only one telephone call has been received this year (on April 30) and council officers took action immediately to resolve the problem.
We are not aware of any further problems since this date.
