Re: Rutland's proposed transfer of its housing stock over to Spire homes.
Looking behind all their glitzy advertising campaign in the torrent of so called information leaflets sent out by the council, the content of these being of a nature that could give some double glazing companies a few lessons in the art of forceful selling by the continual use of subtle bribes, albeit these being called – "promises" – of new kitchens and bathrooms if the transfer goes ahead.

However, I wonder how many tenants actually look behind all this and realise just exactly what Rutland council is really goading their tenants into doing? That being to entice them into giving the go ahead for their homes which are presently controlled a group of "elected" people, no matter what one thinks about them, over to being owned and controlled by an organisation that is totally unelected and always will be.

The only part democracy has in the process is the choice of whether it should go ahead or not, as if it does go ahead this aspect of local democracy won't exist ever again.
