Police praise

I should like to highlight the other side of the coin following criticism of the police in last week's letters page.
I reported on the 0116 222 2222 police helpline at 5.35pm somebody who I thought was acting suspiciously in my village.
They gave me a contact number and thanked me. At 9.50pm an officer rang me back to say they had checked on my concern – he was a known vagrant walking to Birmingham.
The police had a word with him then gave him a lift to Melton and bought him a bag of chips. I was duly impressed on all aspects.
