I am writing in response to the article regarding the future of the Parks School.
The Parks School has always been a very remarkable place, the staff are amazing, they work with enthusiasm, and care passionately about the children.
I have known children go to the Parks and leave confident little people able to cope in mainstre
am settings.
Without this boost from the Parks these children would not cope in a mainstream setting and we will be heading for disaster, what will happen then?
Five years down the line when it hasn't worked the council will say "I know, let's open a special school."
The family centre works tirelessly providing activities and vital support for children and their families. Why change something that works?
Parks is a purpopse made building with all the services, equipment etc, needed to provide top quality educaion and care.
It seems to me that the council are more interested in saving money than providing a vital service that these children and families so desperately need.
Why are children already being refused places at the school and staff are being given work within other schools, does that mean that the council have already made their decision? I think it's time that some honest answers are given.
