Sensitive and daring article
Thank you parish nurse Deborah Marsh for those 'four lettered words' – 'love' and 'care' but also 'fear'.
Fear through ignorance causes more fear and the article by Deborah Marsh published a few weeks ago was the most sensitive and most 'user' friendly I've ever read about the most 'fearful' condition – madness.
I must also congratulate the editor for daring to focus in such a prominent way upon the issue of mental health. Those of us 'closet' sufferers for nearly a lifetime appreciate your wonderful awareness-raising support.
'Love' and 'care' outweigh 'fear' and the love of a wife or partner or friend are crucial, as Debbie mentioned in supporting a sufferer.
Many of us nowadays joke about, 'keep taking the pills' but Debbie has recognised how important, but with sensitive handling, this little phase is to those who need extra support.
One in four of the population have or will experience mental illness sometime in their lifetime.
Many thanks, take care.
From a bi-polar manic depressive of 40 years.
