Spend shower cash on loos

I read with amazement in the Rutland Times that the council is spending £11,000 to build a shower room on their premises.
Do we have decent public loos in the town? No.

That money would go towards solving that very problem, or at least some small improvement in the west end of town even.

On the one hand you want to encourage tourism in our county town but you would rather spend money so that if the local employees want to cycle to work they can have a shower. Shame on you.

The council should be serving the people, not themselves.

Any tourists coming to Oakham are not the least bit interested in the employees at the council offices being able to have a shower, but can be put off spending time in Oakham when we have no decent public conveniences.
