I write on behalf of a group of Oakham citizens who are extremely concerned at the nature of the Rutland County Council's 20 Year Vision for Rutland.
As many of your correspondents have noted there are deep flaws in this vision and the thinking behind it.

It has been subject to the most cursory public consultation process for a matter of such far reaching import for Rutland people.

The council will be moving ahead with this vision at its next meeting on September 8 and we wish to persuade them to rethink this vision and allow much more time for a full debate of the core issues in Rutland as a whole.

We would welcome contact from any other concerned Rutlanders in Oakham, Uppingham or the villages as we are sure that there is concern across Rutland.

If any of your readers are interested they may email me at malcolm@mhs9ds.plus.com or call after 7pm on 01572 756144.

Malcolm Smith
Oakham
