We were all shocked at the news of the fire at Oakham Co-op and look forward to the rebuilding in the not too distant future.
My family and so many others feel as if they've lost a friend.

It's a real sadness to drive past the gates of Burley Road Co-op and not be able to drive in and shop as normal.

Whenever I'm out shopping in Oakham I hear people discussing how much they miss their Co-op and just wanted to give it a mention through your letters page.

Following the devastating fire at the Oakham Superstore, the Midlands Co-operative Society's good will gesture to members and dividend card holders of two £5 vouchers to use in its stores at Melton and Corby on items worth £20 is very much appreciated.

By offering its customers the chance to use these vouchers at their store in Oakham, Tesco is seeking to capitalise on the Co-op's misfortune.
