The three-year fine art degree course just concluding at New College Stamford has been a family affair.
Caroline Ward and her mother, Rosemary Tolkien, both of Uppingham, decided to take the course after undertaking a foundation course, and Caroline’s mother-in-law, Maureen Ward, also decided to join the degree course.

Caroline, 37, of Brook Close, Uppingham, said: “It has been a very rewarding learning experience.”

Rosemary, 59,of Furze Avenue, Uppingham, added: “Doing the degree has been great.”

Maureen, 74, of Westbourne Park, Bourne, said she had attended art school when she was young.

“The degree course has been hard work but mainly a lot of fun and to have the companionship has been great,” she said.
