Biker dies in crash

A biker died in a crash on the A47 at Belton in Rutland on Saturday.
Leicester man Robert Edward Latham (41) died after his white Honda CBR 900 motobike collided with a blue Peugeot 306.

The accident happened at about 3.25pm on Saturday on the A47 Leicester Road approximately 500 metres southeast of its junction with Littleworth Lane.

Mr Latham was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary where he died from his injuries. The driver of the Peugeot was not injured.

PC Darren Symes-Goodman, who is investigating the incident, said: "Both vehicles were travelling towards Leicester and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw either of the vehicles beforehand to contact us."
