Cyclist dies after collision on A1

A CYCLIST has died following a collision near the A1 yesterday.
Maureen Whitmore. 53, of Stamford, died from her injuries at Peterborough District Hospital following the crash in Tinwell.
A red Ford Escort and a silver Ford Focus were also involved in the crash at the junction of the A6121 Tinwell Road and the A1.
The Focus was travelling towards Stamford and the Escort was travelling in the opposite direction. The cyclist was stationary on the pavement at the time of the incident.
PC 1464 Gary Mundy, who is investigating the collision, urged witnesses to contact him urgently on 0116 222 2222.
