A MAN has appeared in court via video link following a crash on the A1.
Paul Joyce, 27, of The Dell in Peterborough, appeared at Loughborough Magistrates Court yesterday. He was charged with aggravated vehicle taking and death caused by an accident.
He will appear again on Monday, March 22, via video link, when the charges are expected to be reviewed.
He was remanded in custody and did not enter a plea.
It follows an accident on the A1 northbound carriageway, near Tickencote, in the early hours of Friday, February 12, in which Highways Agency worker Ernest Mathers was killed. He was hit by a van travelling in the wrong direction.
