An artistic youngster has seen his work on show at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
Seven-year-old Adam Waters' picture of a snow leopard was chosen as the winning artwork in the infant age category of the Sightsavers International competition for the East Midlands.

Adam and his fellow pupils at Oakham Primary School, in Burley Road, entered their work as part of the competition called How I See Myself, which is run by the charity every year to raise awareness of the issue of global blindness.

The school took Adam on a trip to the gallery to see his work on display in the capital .

Class teacher Ashley Scott said: "Adam's picture was one of only 40 to be shown in the Royal Academy this year, alongside a special self-portrait of illustrator Quentin Blake.

"We are very proud of Adam."
