Volunteers have been using speed cameras this week to crack down on speeding drivers.
The four-week scheme in Whitwell will continue until August 9 on the A606 through the village at various times during the day.

The cameras are on loan from the Community Speed Watch campaign which is run by Leicestershire County Council.

Speed watch coordinator Mike Wilson said: "In nearly every scheme we have run the volunteers come back and say it has made a lasting difference to the speed of cars in their village."

Drivers who are caught speeding by the volunteers have their details passed back to the Speed Watch team and then to Rutland police who check vehicle details before sending warning letters to the owner.

A similar campaign has recently been completed in Lyddington and volunteers will run them in Caldecott and Ketton later in the year.
