The money raised through the annual Barry Clarke Memorial Match will help enable three new doctors to join the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme, known as Emics.

Played on Oakham United FC’s Sterling Meadow ground in September, the occasion raised £755 for the scheme. Old Oakham Imps beat Young Imps 3-2 and so retained the trophy. Those involved had played for Barry, remembered by all for his wonderful contribution to local football.

Dr Tim Gray, a founding member of Emics, said: “This money will help to get three new doctors kitted out with the vital lifesaving equipment. We were called to 1,500 incidents in the East Midlands last year.”
