Visitors from as far afield as New Zealand, Scotland, Wales and many other areas in the UK, some staying in guest houses locally for the weekend and others visiting for the day in coaches, came to the Working Weekend at Little Casterton over the weekend of September 19 and 20.

The weather, as usual was dry and very pleasant, giving all the old machinery – the earliest being an 1895 Crossley stationary engine - ideal conditions to work in and the public the chance to watch steam ploughing, harvesting, threshing, wood cutting and much more in open countryside with refreshments including a hog roast, a cup of tea and an ice cream for those requiring a much needed rest.

There were also tractors and trailers used as buses with informed commentary giving free tours around the whole area.

The local 20-49 Motor Club also had their historic vehicles, many of them commercial including a 1940 Dennis fire engine on display.

As usual money raised from this event will be donated to chosen local charities.
