The new addition of Gilbert & Thomas, which employs 10 people, means that Sharman Quinney’s network now totals 20 branches.

Managing director Mike Sharman said: “We are delighted to welcome such a strong and well respected business such as Gilbert & Thomas into the Sharman Quinney network.

“This acquisition sits in a location that perfectly complements our existing branches, allows us to increase our regional spread plus provides further depth to our current offering.

“We look forward to working with Vaughan and his team.”

Mr Gilbert said: “The acquisition by Sharman Quinney represents an exciting opportunity for myself and the team who will continue to provide the high level of personal service the homeowners of Rutland and the surrounding area have become accustomed to.

“The acquisition will enable us to offer additional services to the people of Rutland who have supported the Gilbert & Thomas brand, helping to make it the success it has been over the last seventeen years and for many years to come.”

Gilbert & Thomas covers the county of Rutland and surrounding areas from its offices in Oakham and Uppingham.

The business will continue to trade under its existing brand.
