Beauty therapy students at New College Stamford teamed up with volunteers at the Evergreen Care Trust to offer pensioners a little pampering in the run up to Christmas.
The Level 2 students visited a number of care homes with the charity, offering residents manicures and hand massages as part of a voluntary project.
College tutor Theresa Maddison was approached by the trust’s Rosie Maclennan, who was hoping to expand their free care services into hand and nail pampering.
Beauty students at the college trained Evergreen’s volunteers in hand massage, filing and polishing nails, while manicure kits were provided free by Ellison’s professional nail supplies. Students volunteered at a number of care homes.
