Drink driving campaign launched in Rutland

POLICE have launched a campaign to help football fans avoid drink drive convictions.

Leicestershire Police has launched the Win, Lose or Draw campaign to coincide with Euro 2012, as officers believe millions of people will watch England’s matches in pubs and clubs or at home, while enjoying a drink.

The campaign reminds people of the risk of driving the following morning if they are still over the limit.

Insp Gill Lewis, head of the roads policing unit, said: “We hope the campaign will help you avoid a drink drive conviction or, worse still, avoid causing casualties by driving while over the limit.”

The force is promoting the morning after calculator, which calculates roughly how long it takes to be alcohol free. To use it visit www.morning-after.org.uk.
