Steven Howells, 62, who was reported missing from his home in Burley
POLICE are looking for a man who has been missing from his home since Saturday.
Steven Howells, 62, of Langham Lane, Burley, near Oakham, was reported missing by a friend on Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday Mr Howells was seen in South Luffenham and North Luffenham and yesterday (Monday) his car was found in Digby Drive, North Luffenham.
PC Tanya Lehane said: “We are really concerned for Steven’s welfare and would urge anyone with information about his current whereabouts to call police on 101.
“This is out of character for Steven and his family and friends want him to return safely home as soon as possible.”
Police searching for Mr Howells were at the level crossing in Station Road, South Luffenham yesterday after a train driver reported that his train had hit someone.
But no evidence was found that a person had been hit and officers are continuing their hunt for the missing man.
Mr Howells is been described as white, about 5ft 11in tall, of medium build with dark thinning hair.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about his whereabouts to call them immediately and would also like to appeal directly to Mr Howells to call police to let them know he is safe.
