Two men from Oakham are jailed for drug offences

TWO men from Oakham have been sentenced to more than three years in prison between them for drug offences.
Dean Snow, 39, and Michael Kirby, 39, both of The Sidings, Oakham, were sentenced on Wednesday, June 6, after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.
Snow pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply and supplying/offering to supply a controlled drug to another and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Kirby pleaded guilty to producing a controlled drug, possessing a controlled drug with intent and destroying or damaging property. He was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
Inspector Kam Mistry, of Rutland police, said: “Both Snow and Kirby are prolific offenders who have been concerned in the supply of Class A, B and C drugs in the area.
“We are pleased with the verdict and the fact that these men have been sent to prison to answer to their crimes.
“We hope the sentences reassure the community that we take crimes of this nature extremely seriously and we will leave no stone unturned in investigating the community’s concerns.”
