Students at New College Stamford celebrated securing their University places and taking their next steps to future careers today.

Lauren Toulson (18) was delighted achieving A, A, A in her A Levels. She has now been accepted on to an English Linguistic degree at Kings College London.

Max Ell (19) from Peterborough also achieved amazing grades, A, A* meaning a secured scholarship at Lancaster University!

Max said “I really thought I’d messed up in the exam so I am so happy to get these results!’

Janet Meenaghan, Principal of New College Stamford said, “We are very proud of our students who have done incredibly well this year securing their first choice university places”.

“With 100% pass rate across 14 different subjects, the proportion of students achieving high grades has increased considerably. We wish them all well in their future studies.”

After being home educated the transition to college was a big jump for Jonathan Hall (17) also from Peterborough who achieved an amazing A, A, A in his AS levels.

He said, ”I pretty much taught myself through my GCSEs but studying A Levels at New College Stamford has been really enjoyable and I’m already looking forward to next year”.

Jonathan plans to continue studying Maths, Physics and Computer Science at A Level and hopes to progress on to a degree in Computer Science at University.

Ivan Moreira (18) from Stamford, is hoping to become the next big film director. He is heading off to study a degree in Film Production at Southampton Solent University.

Ivan was brave enough to open his results live on Rutland Radio on results morning and was delighted to reveal his B, C, C grades to the public.

“My grades were on target, so I’m very happy. This gives me what I need to get in to my first choice University. I can’t wait to take my next steps towards a brighter future in the film industry”.
