The children at Catmose Primary transformed into fairies and elves to celebrate the grand opening of the Hobbit village in the woodland area in the school grounds.
The children now have access to a tree house and Hobbit house at playtimes to encourage creative play.
Councillor Alf Dewis, Mayor of Oakham, opened the new play area and invited family and friends to take a tour of the area. Coun Dewis said: “It is such a wonderful area - the children are very lucky to have access to such lovely facilities each day”.
Kelly Jackson, head of school, said “We value the importance of providing the children at our school with the very best in facilities, as we in turn ask the children to do their very best.”
