Rutland headteachers visit Houses of Parliament
Alan Duncan MP and Baroness Berridge in Parliament with headteachers from Rutland
HEADTEACHERS from Rutland took a trip to London to visit the Houses of Parliament last week.
The school teachers were invited to London by Baroness Berridge of the Vale of Catmose to discuss local educational issues.
After lunch Rutland MP Alan Duncan met with the headteachers to hear their views on education in the county and national education policy more broadly.
Alan said: “I often enjoy visiting schools in the constituency, but it was a nice change for them to come up to us for the day.
“It was a great opportunity to discuss education in the county and to thank the heads again for their hard work and commitment to our schools.”
Langham Primary School headteacher Janet Lord said: “The headteachers of Rutland all felt both privileged and honoured to be invited to the House of Lords by Baroness Berridge.
“We had a most informative day and our eyes were opened to the workings of both houses.”
