Today (Friday, August 28) Langham will mark 100 years since a soldier died in the First World War.

On August 28, 1915, 19- year-old Ernest Munday died of his wounds. Before the war, Ernest had worked at Langham Brewery and in November 1914 he joined the Leicestershire Regiment.

In July 1915, whilst in the trenches in France, a bullet hit his shoulder, close to his spine. His legs were paralysed and he died from infection.

A memorial will take place today in Langham church and he will be remembered in prayer.
