CHILDREN have been brushing up on their adventure skills during a series of lessons.

Rutland County Council set up  adventure challenge extreme for children aged eight and over with additional needs  to take on the Rock Bloc climbing wall at Rutland Water.

The club, which runs monthly, was set up in December after the young people expressed an interest in the climbing and high ropes after attending an activity day.

The children have their own individual recording logs and targets and achieve at different rates.

The group is split into two sessions.

The children are aiming for a climbing award for their efforts and a spokesman said the sessions had been a success so far.
