VOLUNTEER first aiders were given a first hand account of the work of an emergency response doctor.
Maj Leon Roberts, a doctor from the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme, was at the monthly training session of the Ketton Community First Responders group.
The group of volunteers respond to emergencies in the area around Ketton, giving first aid until paramedics arrive.
Dr Roberts held a question and answer session with the group and discussed various scenarios and previous cases members had attended.
Group member Glenis Southern said: “It was really quite inspirational for us. When you volunteer to do something like this it is quite a big commitment and it can be quite scary because you never know what you are going to find.”
