Motorcyclist from Oakham who died in crash near Tilton-on-the-Hill is named
A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a crash on Monday has been named.
John Hall, 42, from Oakham, was riding a blue Kawasaki motorcycle between Braunston and Tilton-on-the-Hill when it was involved in a collision with a black Peugeot 107 car.
The collision occurred at about 8.20am, about 300 metres east of the junction with Launde Road.
The driver of the car was seriously injured and remains in a stable condition at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Mr Hall died at the scene.
Detective Constable Paul Bingham is investigating the incident. He said: “The Peugeot was travelling from Tilton-on-the-Hill towards Oakham and the motorcyclist was travelling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.
“We would still urge anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand to contact us. We would also like to speak to anyone who may have stopped at the scene and left before speaking to officers, as they may be able to assist with our inquiries.”
