A FUN filled day of family activities was held in aid of the Rutland branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution on Sunday last week.

The event, being held for the second time, took place at Barnsdale Lodge and attracted a stream of families throughout the day who went to try out the activities on offer.

Among them were face painting, a little red bus ride for children, hook a duck, horseshoes, a treasure hunt, a tombola, a barbecue and stalls selling gifts and wares.

There was an inflatable lifeboat on display to demonstrate why fundraising is so important to the charity.

Spokesman Laura Reekie said: “It was a really busy day. The face painting and the little red bus were definitely the most popular attractions.”
