UPDATED: A1 northbound has reopened following crash near Colsterworth
THE A1 northbound has reopened between the A151 at Colsterworth and the A607 at Grantham following an accident this morning.
The collision involved a silver Mercedes convertible and a blue Volkswagen Golf.
A 67-year-old woman from Swayfield who was a passenger in the Mercedes was taken by air ambulance to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham and later had surgery on her arm. The driver of the Mercedes, a 59-year-old woman from Swayfield, was taken to Lincoln County Hospital.
Police said neither was thought to have life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen, an 82-year-old man from the Grantham area, is not believed to have needed hospital treatment.
The collision happened just before 10.30am and the road was reopened at 2.30pm.
