A sheltered housing complex could be knocked down to make way for 42 new homes.

Mark Anslow, on behalf of Spire Homes, has applied to demolish the buildings at Beckworth Court and Bayleys Close, Empingham, and redevelop the site into a mix of homes. The current buildings are sheltered housing complexes.

The planning application was submmitted on December 4 and people have until tomorrow (January 7) to comment. The plans can be seen at www.rutland.gov.uk.

Empingham Parish Council will discuss the plans at a meeting at the Audit Hall at 7pm tonight (January 6). Members of the public are welcome to attend. Mr Anslow will host another exhibition before the meeting from 4pm.

Pick up this week’s paper for a full report on the application.
