Runners did their bit for their county at the first ever Rutland Marathon.
The inaugural race took place around Rutland Water on September 27, and plenty of people ran the 26.2-mile route for charity.
The For Rutland - In Rutland had great support, with a team of eight runners showing their support.
John Hawkins attempted his first marathon alongside the more experienced Nick Healey and James Davis. Vicki McDavid and her friends Juliet Facey, Alice Swinscoe , Libby Morley and Emily Ward made a spectacular sight in their white logo T-shirts running together as a group.
For Rutland - In Rutland committee member and co-founder Trish Ruddle said: “All the runners had a wonderful support team behind them and it proved to be a very successful event.”
For Rutland -In Rutland funds a vital service at Rutland Citizens Advice Bureau in Oakham, giving non-medical advice on cancer, dementia and other long term illnesses. The demand for the service has far outweighed expectations and the charity is now providing two special advisors to dispense free, confidential and impartial advice.
