A Rutland teenager is getting catwalk ready after being selected from thousands for the grand finals of a national modelling competition.
Amber Davison, 16, who is a pupil at Rutland County College, has made her way to the finals of the renowned Top Model professional model search contest, which takes place at the Hilton London Metropole on Friday and Saturday next week.
The annual competition attracts more than 4,000 entrants from across the globe. The final will feature more than 160 hopefuls who will compete in six main show categories.
Amber, who is originally from Dundee but now lives at Kendrew Barracks in Cottesmore, will compete for the title of natural beauty, taking to the catwalk as part of the grand final show. She will also be up for the public vote.
She said: “I’m really excited but it’s going to be scary walking in front of lots of people. When I was really little I took part in a small catwalk show but that was a long time ago.”
Amber’s modelling career is already starting to take off thanks to her success in the competition so far. Beautician Georgia Atkins is using her photos to help promote her website for her clinic at Kendrew Barracks. Amber has also secured sponsorship from Body Tone Warehouse in her hometown of Dundee.
This year Top Model is supporting Children with Cancer UK. The contest has raised more than £50,000 for various charities since it launched.
