Thursday, 12pm: An elderly driver who died after crashing into a railway bridge has been named.
The crash happened in Teigh Road, about half a mile from Ashwell, at about 7.35pm on Tuesday. A Leicestershire Police spokesman said that a silver Mazda 6 estate left the road and collided with a disused railway bridge footing.
The driver of the vehicle, named today (Thursday) as Graham Ross, 71, from Harlaxton, died at the scene.
Officers have appealed for anyone who may have seen the vehicle, which was travelling towards Teigh prior to the collision, or witnessed the collision to call 101 and ask for detective constable 1288 Paul Bingham.
