All Rutland residents are being asked to share their views on travel options around the county as part of a wide-ranging review of local transport.

Rutland County Council is currently undertaking a countywide travel survey to help shape the county’s existing transport network so that it better meets the needs of people living and working in Rutland.

The comprehensive survey asks for information about when, how and why people undertake their regular journeys – whether for healthcare, employment, education or leisure purposes.

Portfolio holder for transport at Rutland County Council Tony Mathias (Con), said: “We know that people have different priorities when it comes to travel, both inside and outside the county, and this survey will help us to paint an up-to-date picture of how people in Rutland want to get around.

“We hope as many people as possible will take part and share their views. You could be a young person who needs transport to school or college, a commuter who travels for work or someone who relies on local transport to get in and out of town.”

Printed surveys have been sent to every household in Rutland and can be returned using the freepost envelope provided. Copies are also available from the council’s Catmose office, local libraries and by contacting the Council’s Transport team. Alternatively, you can visit: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/rutlandtravelsurvey

Residents have until Monday to complete the survey.
