The Rutland fundraising group for WaterAid held a highly successful cake, plant, produce and book stall in Uppingham to raise funds for vital clean water and safe sanitation projects among the world’s poorest communities.

The stall, in Market Place, raised £630 thanks to generous shoppers who bought virtually the whole stock of delicious homemade cakes, scones, biscuits, shortbread and jams as well as a wide choice of fresh vegetables and plants.

Organiser Hilary Williams said: “A very big thank you to all Rutlanders who shopped at our stall or donated the wonderful selection of cakes, plants and produce.

“Your support enables WaterAid to continue its great work in helping communities take an important step towards ending poverty.”
