Stuart Broad gave England hope in the second one-day international in India when he claimed three early wickets.

The Whissendine paceman removed the dangerous Sehwag, Raina and Sharma cheaply at Indore on Monday.

But it was not enough to prevent England slipping to a 54-run defeat to go 2-0 down in the seven-match series.

India recovered to post 292-9 from their 50 overs after another sparkling century from Yuvraj Singh.

He cracked 118 before being dismissed by Broad, caught behind by Matt Prior.

Broad, the former Oakham School pupil, took 4-55 in his 10 overs.

England were bowled out for 238 in reply in 47 overs.

Owais Shah contributed 58 and Andrew Flintoff a quickfire 43, with four fours and three sixes.

Broad again demonstrated his prowess with the bat making a useful 22 from just 11 balls. He whacked a six and three fours.

The third match in the series is on Thursday at Kanpur.
