CRICKET: More disappointment for struggling Oakham

Oakham continue to flirt with relegation after losing to Lincoln Lindum 2nds on Saturday.

They remain second bottom of Division 1 of the South Lincs and Border League following the four-wicket defeat.

Sam Wills scored 65 and fellow opener Jamie McCormack 42 as Oakham posted 161-5.

Teenager Ollie McCann then claimed 3-38 but it was not enough to prevent Lindum 2nds getting home for the loss of six wickets, Iain Turner top-scoring with 55.

In the Rutland League, Uppingham Town took a massive stride in their quest to bounce back to Division 1 when they defeated title rivals March Town by two wickets.

March totalled 168-9 and the Rutlanders got home with an over and two wickets to spare.

Other Rutland League scores:
Market Overton 2nds 186 lost to Weekly and Warkton 189-2; Stamford 2nds 90-6 beat Kettering Town 89; Uppingham 2nds 174-9 lost to Peterborough 2nds 213-4.
