CRICKET: Promotion in the balance for Uppingham Town

Uppingham Town missed the chance to clinch promotion back to the top flight of the Rutland League when they lost to Barnack on Sunday.
The Rutlanders are still in pole position to finish runners-up in Division 2 to champions Market Deeping.
With one game left they have a 28-point advantage over nearest challengers Bourne, who have two games to play.
Uppingham had the perfect start when they batted first as openers Mark Cox (62) and Adi Salt (50) put on 122 for the first wicket.
Town then lost seven wickets for 23 runs before Neil Wedge hit a useful unbeaten 34 to hoist them up to 190 all out after 44 overs,
Butt was the star with both bat and ball for Barnack, taking 5-18 in his five overs and then scoring 90 runs off 114 balls to get his side home with four wickets in hand and just two overs to bowl.
All the Uppinham bowlers bowled well in defending their total as Cox claimed 3-28 in seven overs.Rain fell during the Barnack reply as Adam Scotcher hit 42 to top the scoring for Barnack.
Credit was due to the umpire and both captains for ensuring the game was completed.
Deeping sealed the championship with a six-wicket victory over Bourne at the Abbey Lawn. Thomas Anderson claimed 3-38 and there were two wickets apiece for Charlie and Michael Kearns plus Josh Green as Bourne were bundled out for just 99 (Mark Fotheringham 29).
Deeping got home in 21 overs with six wickets in hand, Nick Cowley remaining unbeaten on 43.
Elsewhere in Division 2, Chris Birch claimed a remarkable four wickets for seven runs as Stamford Town skittled Yaxley for just 42.
Town took only 47 deliveries to win the game with eight wickets in hand.
Market Overton are relegated from Division 1 after Sunday's eight-wicket demise at high-flying Godmanchester.
Marko were bowled out for 101 and their opponents lost just two wickets in getting to their target in just over 13 overs.
Oakham's scheduled match against Isham at the Lime Kilns was washed out but they look assured of promotion with just a visit to bottom team Desborough to come.
Orton Park are the only side who can catch the Rutlanders but they are a distant 52 points behind with three games to play.
Oakham could go up as champions. Second-placed Medbourne, who also had their game on Sunday cancelled, have three matches left but a deficit of 20 points to make up.
