Cottesmore Amateurs chalked up an important 2-0 victory at Asfordby Amateurs on Saturday.

The three points helped move the Rutlanders further away from the relegation zone and gave them the bragging rights over their neighbouring rivals.

Cottesmore's reserves were beaten 3-1 at home by Anstey Nomads Reserves in their latest league fixture.

Goals by Dave Laughton and Martin Turricki were not often to stop Uppingham Town crashing out of the PFA Senior Cup with a 5-2 defeat at Parson Drove.

Rutland Rangers maintained their challenge at the top of the Peterborough League premier division with an 8-0 away demolition of Peterborough Sports.

Jamie Forbes, Richard Nelson and Robbie Pearce each netted twice with the other goals coming from Ben Jones and Jamie Saddington.

Jamie Betts and John Hoyles scored the goals which helped Ketton win 2-1 at Werrington in Division 1.

Uppingham Town Reserves enjoyed an exciting 5-4 home league win over Netherton United Reserves.

Jamie Binley and David O'Neil netted braces with James Coughlan scoring the other goal.

Rutland Rangers Reserves drew 0-0 at Thorney Reserves.

Ketton Reserves bowed out of the Leicestershire Saturday Trophy with a 3-2 loss at home to Witherley United. Alex Sismore and Aaron Young scored for the Rutlanders.

Oakham Imps drew 1-1 at Fleckney Athletic in the Leicester & District League with Steve Dalziel on target.

Jason Short grabbed a hat-trick for Oakham Imps Reserves as they defeated Queniborough Reserves 5-3 at home in the league.

Martin Bradley scored the other two goals for the Rutlanders.
