Cottesmore Amateurs are still seeking their first league win of the season after losing 2-1 at home to Blaby and Whetstone Athletic on Saturday.

The visitors, who have now won two of their three games in Leicestershire Senior League premier division, dominated for long periods at Rogues Park as the hosts sought to contain them.

Cottesmore Amateurs Reserves had their latest league match abandoned on Thursday night.

The referee called the City Goldsmiths Combination Division 2 match off with just seven minutes left after the Narborough and Littlethorpe goalkeeper broke his leg.

Play was held up for a considerable time while the players and officals waited for an ambulance to arrive.

Narborough led 1-0 when the teams went off the field.

Uppingham Town gained their first point in the Peterborough League premier division in their fifth game of the campaign.

They held Oundle Town to a 1-1 home draw, Martin Turricki the man on target for the Rutlanders.

Rutland Rangers went down 3-0 at Whittlesey United.

Oakham Imps kicked off their Leicester and District League Division 2 season with a 3-2 win at Saffron Gap.
