FC Griff are through to the final of the Leicestershire County Cup Sunday Shield but were pushed all the way by a talented Market Bosworth side.
The score after 90 minutes was 3-3 with Tony Maher, Robbie Pearce and Rob Hind, with a spot kick, on target for the Oakham side.

Griff boss Lee Joyce said: "They were quick up front but even though they were good we were all over them in the opening minutes.

"We had a goal disallowed because the ref said it hadn't crossed the line. Then we slackened off and they scored from two set pieces."

Griff pulled back to take the lead after the break but conceded a late goal to force extra time and the penalty drama.

Hind, who had scored in normal time, missed in the shootout but Richard Nelson, Stu Lambie, Robbie Pearce and Ben Dickenson all held their nerve to see Griff though 4-2.

The final is on April 14 in Leicester. The second semi is still to be played.
