ENGLAND Students' Rugby team carried out one of their final training sessions at Uppingham School on Sunday before leaving for Portugal.
The session was in preparation for their international match against the Portuguese national side in Lisbon on Saturday.
Portugal are ranked 21st in the world and qualified for the Rugby World Cup 2007.
Head coach, Paul Westgate, who is director of sport at Uppingham School said: "Training went well and we are prepared for the challenge that faces us. It will be a tough match but I have strong squad and am hopeful we'll have a positive result."
Meanwhile at Uppingham, Todd Freedman has been selected to tour the Far East with the Independent Schools Barbarians.
Todd, who is in his final year at Uppingham, joins the squad at the end of term when matches will be played against Singapore, Malaysia and New South Wales between March 27 and April 5.
This is the second year running that an Uppingham 1st XV player has been selected to tour with the Barbarians. Will Burrows toured the USA in 2009.
