Two-footed lunge leaves Ketton boss fuming
Eye Sports 4 Ketton 1

KETTON were left to rue a shocking first half display and a poor refereeing decision as they crashed to a heavy defeat away at Eye Sports on Saturday.

Ketton struggled in the early stages and were indebted to goalkeeper Jamie Scott who performed heroics to keep the score to just 2-0 at half time.

Ketton's second half display was better and when substitute Alex Sismore won and converted a penalty they had a chance to get something from the game.

With 15 minutes to go Ketton were left aggrieved after a lunging two-footed foul left Michael Saffer floored.

The referee decided it was a booking when everyone expected a red card and to add insult to injury, the same player then scored Eye's third with five minutes to go and then created the fourth as Ketton pushed forward.

Ketton boss Andy Gray said: "It was a shocking tackle. Their manager, subs and linesman all agreed that he had to go and yet the referee deemed it to be a yellow card.

"I asked the referee about it after the game but he refused to talk to me."
