SIX cyclists raced for Velo Club Rutland in the Bulwick round of the Summer Series of mountain bike races on Friday night with a great win for Amelia Cambridge of Oakham in the ladies' race.
Amelia was five minutes ahead of her nearest rival.
Also in the race were Oakham’s Julia Lethbridge (4th) and Rebecca Cunnel (6th) and Diana Freeman (9th) of Barrow.
Representing the club in the senior men’s category were Jonny Lloyd (26th) of Oakham and Glynn Attiwell of South Witham who finished 31st out of 62 starters.
On Sunday the team entered the Midlands XC Round 2 at Hanchurch Woods near Stoke-on-Trent where Amelia Cambridge raced to third in the expert female class and Rebecca Cunnell was first in the sport female class.
